TEEN & young adult COUNSELLING
Hello!
My name is Kelsey Dawson and I have my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and have spent the last 5 years of my career working with university students as a Student Advisor at the University of Alberta. I’m so excited to continue my work with Thrive as a mental health therapist and clinical counsellor.
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I am looking forward to creating a space, an approach, and solutions that work for you! I’m thrilled to work with clients of varying cultures, backgrounds, genders, and sexual orientations.
The areas I work in include LGBTQ2S+ issues, career counselling, preparing for life after high school, anxiety, and depression. My therapeutic interests include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centred Therapy.
Outside of work, I am an avid podcast-listener, cat-lover, and Edmonton festival-goer. I’m a big fan of gaming (board games and video games), trying new restaurants with my wife, and convincing my cat to sit on my lap for a couple of minutes.
I look forward to meeting you!
Kelsey
