OTHER INTERN INFORMATION
Thrive interns have completed their master’s degree coursework and are in the last stages of their training, prior to receiving their license as a clinical counsellor or provisional psychologist.
Thrive interns are closely supervised by a team of experienced psychologists, counsellors and supervisors on the Thrive team.
While most insurance plans do not cover student interns, there are some plans that do offer intern coverage, under the supervision of a psychologist. Please check with your individual provider and plan. Direct billing is not available for student interns

Master’s clinical Intern
Hi, my name is Nayomi and I am a Masters intern. I am completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University. I have worked with children, teens, young adults and families from various cultures and backgrounds over the years. At Thrive, I am looking forward to collaboratively working with children, youth, and parents to help them achieve their goals. I am passionate about helping my clients find their strengths in times they feel challenged and working with them as they gradually reach their fullest potential. I am a mother to three teenage children, and I learn and grow alongside them navigating through their teenage years. I understand that life is not easy for teenagers, and I realize the value of a safe, empathetic presence in a youth’s life as they explore these challenges.
I support, clients with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, stress management, friendship issues, and family-relationship issues, through a blended approach utilizing person-centered therapy with Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy(SFT).
During my free time, I love taking road trips or learning about games from my children. Also, I love reading novels and listening to music when in my downtime.
