What types of counselling do you offer?

How frequently will my child or teen need to come?

We ask for a weekly commitment at least through the first 4 weeks while we are still getting to know you and assessing your reason for entering therapy. At around your third or fourth session, your therapist will review a treatment plan with you. This is the time to further discuss and agree upon frequency of care. Your therapist will educate you on their recommendation and how it relates to your goals or the type of treatment that is being recommended for you.

How much will counselling cost?

We encourage ongoing counselling support with multiple appointments and this requires time and financial commitment. We direct bill to Alberta Blue Cross, ASEBP & Greenshield. If you have a different insurance plan, we can provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company. Some of our clients choose to pay privately for services, use their health spending accounts or submit receipts for insurance reimbursement.

Fees

Individual Counselling Session $85 - $220.00

How long will my child or teen need counselling?

We understand the importance of mental health concerns and the hope for these concerns to be resolved in a short amount of time. Our counsellors will guide you through therapy with your best interests in mind. With that said, some issues are more difficult and require a longer treatment time. Many of our clients will see their therapist for 5-8 sessions.

Your counsellor will stay in close communication with you to make sure needs are being met. We want your family to feel successful, whether that is 4 appointments or 24.

What will you tell me about my child’s or teen’s progress?

In order for your child or teen to be able to trust their counsellor, they must know that what they share with their counsellor will be kept in confidence. However, we can share general information about the issues we are working on and if progress is being made. There are some exceptions to confidentiality, which mostly involve concern for the safety of your child or teen. It is important for us to have regular contact with you and possibly involve you in the therapy process.
